For My Country Heart

“Absolutely amazing. Feels a bit old school and it has this hint of sadness to it that uplifts a country track. Enjoyed it throughout the whole duration and i absolutely love your voice as well—RevolutionizeMusic—- Country Music All Time Country Hits Spotify Playlist on For My Country Heart.

“Hello David Michael Jackson, I really liked the old school acoustic song, i liked the instrumental that reminds me a lot of past decades. The guitar timbres are really good and highlight for the great riffs. The chorus is great, the vocals are very good and I liked the great timbre, congratulations”…Marcio Senna, Country Hits Playlist

It’s the same barstool
where I talked to you
and I held your hand in mine.
It’s the same dance floor
where we danced all night
and I kissed your lips for the first time.

That old jukebox plays
that sad old song for me.
My country heart knows the melody.
Take these quarters here,
put’em in the slot
and play that country song
for my country heart.
Play that country song
for my country heart.

It’s the same country tune
that makes me think of you
when I looked into your eyes for the last time.
It’s the same bar keep
who laughed with us ’til dawn.
I said fill up my glass.
She’s gone.

That old jukebox plays
that sad old song for me.
My country heart knows the melody.
Take these quarters here,
put’em in the slot
and play that country song
for my country heart.
Play that country song
for my country heart.

Janet Kuypers guest-hosts “Poetry Aloud” 4/28/18 open mic in Georgetown

April 28th marked the first time Janet Kuypers hosted the Poetry Aloud open mic 4/28/18 in Georgetown TX, which was the only meeting like this at the Georgetown Public Library during National Poetry Month in 2018. As host she welcomed poets and musicians up in this round-robin event, and toward the end of each round-robin reading Janet would come to the front to read poetry (that sometimes related to the theme for this meeting, either “ I am not a Robot” or “Two Parades”), while reading material from her performance art collection book “Chapter 38 v1”. During the second round, she even sang a song with John on guitar that appeared in “Chapter 38 v1”, and in the final round of reading, she even read a poem (for the parades theme) from her poetry book “Close Cover Before Striking”.

Because the man who usually starts every round of readings, Thom Woodruff, had a sort throat and could not speak at this open mic, Janet Kuypers tried to fill Thom’s shoes by reading poetry by Thom that appeared in 7 issues of the Scars Publications cc&d books “The New World”, “Forbidden”, “Respect our Existence or Expect our Resistance”, “The End of the World”, “Question Everything”, “The False Portrait”, and the to-be-relased 25-year anniversary issue of cc&d (v284), “Shining”.
