Janet Kuypers’ Book Readings 1/3/18 in Community Poetry @ Half Price Books

    January 3rd marked a January 2018 Book Release Reading of new books from Scars Publications, which saw the release of the books “the End of the World” from cc&d magazine; and “Farewell to Seafaring” from Down in the Dirt magazine. In his reading, Janet Kuypers read performance art poetry material from the show “Meant to do Big Things” that appeared in cc&d magazine’s book, and haiku as well as poetry from “Farewell to Seafaring”. Janet Kuypers also read material from the 2018 Scars Publications collection books that were recently released, and was able to share haiku and poetry. In separate readings, she read her poetry from the Down in the Dirt September-January 2018 issue collection book “the Light in the Sky”; Janet Kuypers also read from the cc&d September-January 2018 issue collection book “Language of Untamed Spirit” — during this fourth reading she was also able to end the readings with 3 haiku from the poetry and prose collection anthology “On a Rainy Day”, all read for the Community Poetry @ Half Price Books reading in Austin.

    Below are video, poetry, and photography links (as well as a chapbook link) from the November 4th 2017 (11/4/17, or 20171104, or 4 Nov 2017) poetry performance of Janet Kuypers’ Austin poetry feature through the “Expressions Final Farewell: Featured Reading” at Austin’s the Bahá’í Center, titled “Finding where we’re From and the Future”. In this show she read poetry about autumn, as well as poetry about relationships and love, all accompanied by the music “the Ice is Melting” from the HA!Man of South Africa (as well as a rotating art display).

    Before the show started she also released copies to most everyone there of a chapbook of the writings she was performing in her show, and all of the pieces from this reading were also released electronically in a “Finding Where We’re From and the Future” chapbook, which you can view or download as a PDF file for free any time.

Janet Kuypers’ poetry “November 2017 Book Release Reading” 11/1/17

    November 1st marked a November 2017 Book Release Reading through Community Poetry of new books from Scars Publications, which saw the release of the books “Warrior’s Light” from cc&d magazine (with cover photography of the “diamond ruing” of the sun peeking behind the moon during the total eclipse of the sun 8/21/17); and “Monsters” from Down in the Dirt magazine. In his reading, Janet Kuypers read performance art poetry material from cc&d magazine’s book, and haiku as well as poetry from “Monsters”.

    Because there was time during this feature poetry reading event, Janet Kuypers also read material from her 2014 mini-books (from her “Partial Nudity”/“Revealed” book releases) “Part of my Pain”, “Twitterati”, and “Let me See You Stripped” as the finale to the Community Poetry @ Half Price Books reading in Austin.

Janet Kuypers’ 9/21/17 “Seasons Change” Dripping Springs, TX “Thirsty Thursday” show

    Chicago poet and Austin resident Janet Kuypers was honored to join poets and musicians at the Dripping Springs City Hall, where she was asked to do a feature for Thirsty Thursday on September st 2017 (9/2/21, or 20170921).

    Included in her poetry show, she started with guitar from John while singing and performing her poem “True Happiness in the New Millennium (2017 Dripping Springs edit)”. In the remainder of her show, her poetry reading about all of the seasons as they change was accompanied by music recordings from the HA!Man of South Africa (including “big drops falling on my walk” and “the cold feeling of touch”, from his “Hotel Music”). The entire show was also accompanied by a random art generation on a computer screen of her images from around the world.
