It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear friend, colleague, and long-time Poetry Editor, Robin Ouzman Hislop.

As the visionary force behind Poetry Life and Times (PLT) and a core co-editor of the Artvilla arts portal, Robin dedicated decades of his life to cultivating an international sanctuary for writers, artists, and musicians. His departure leaves an irreplaceable void in our global creative community, but his immense literary legacy will endure.

Robin first took the helm of the online monthly journal Poetry Life and Times in 2005. Following a brief hiatus, he partnered with Artvilla publisher Dave Jackson in 2013 to integrate PLT directly into the Artvilla network. Together, they transformed the platform into a thriving, open-access international space. Robin approached editing not as a gatekeeper, but as a mentor, treating every submission with deep respect and intellectual curiosity.

Beyond his editorial brilliance, Robin was a highly accomplished British poet, translator, and songwriter. Known for his concise, evocative imagery, he frequently experimented with audio-textual formats, pushing the boundaries of how poetry could be experienced online.
