Good Friend Poem by Tony Nesca

GOOD FRIEND

alone again things hazy and alright
follow me till sun-up somewhere-madness
through the alleys sunshine gone missing
lost somewhere else bar-fight broken glass
death by cancer confused happy man says,
way out there,
yeah,
too far says hippie gone madness,
hippie fucking awol,
yeah,
move on baby she’s gone gone gone

lost you somewhere on that last filthy corner
neon judgment good friend somewhere-lost,
red river runs forever today
last beer before sun-come-up
lost him somewhere,
blue-jean billy-boy Winnipeg cravings man,
she steps up asks me for a cigarette
looking grim beautiful,
o.k. I say,
it’s okay,
i lost him somewhere
