Care
By David Michael Jackson
No I don’t care if you like this poem, no
I don’t care.
I care if the cat is fed, if
the mortgage company is fed, if
that car lasts another year, if
silver goes up.
Karma can be found among
the waters and the leaves and
the car lasting another year.
Karma can be found while looking for your keys,
asking the waitress for another cup.
No I don’t care that you may think this poem runs
into
heaven, runs into
hell
or runs
out
of
words
