Cats Are Cooler
By Laura Greenall

Dogs are cool
But cats are cooler
My cat's too smart to fetch a stick
My cat will kneed the air
When I scratch his tummy
He will suck on my fingers
When I stroke his back
He curls behind my knees
When I nap in my chair
And he purrs me to sleep at night
He has never forgotten
Being a god to Egyptians
Or the bad rap he got
As a witch's familiar
His nine lives has carried him through
Dogs have owners
Cats have staff
And remember, you ain't nobody
Until you've been ignored by a cat
