Poem Of Every So Often
By Marilyn McIntyre
Rock and Roll
a shooting star
pulsing across the heavens
wailing banshee
screaming with pain
sound echoing across the universe
for all time
all this in increasing degree
captured in a few strings
a stroke
a word
a whisper
strumming
electrically charged
fire and sun and thunder
reduced to a chorus
of backstreet angels.
