\r\nBattle for Music<\/strong>\r\n\r\n\r\nReaching out to those from the past,\r\n\r\nold frostbitten treble held fast,\r\n\r\nin the unsettling absence of the old ruling class.\r\n\r\nBlatant slights composing discourteous tone,\r\n\r\nthe tempo of time stolen \r\n\r\nand loose ends kept unkempt,\r\n\r\ndefining an obscure drone as nearly all we can hear.\r\n\r\n\r\nReverse ourselves,\r\n\r\nsoothe the interruption,\r\n\r\nfill the secret box with choruses reprised,\r\n\r\nreplace removed harmonic constraints,\r\n\r\ntunefulness no longer forbidden.\r\n\r\n\r\nPreaching of the hymns  \r\n\r\nand cardinal virtues renewed.\r\n\r\nAbiding affection of clefs and ledger lines\r\n\r\nmeant to transform all as consonance,\r\n\r\nputting forward what\u2019s most dear to one\u2019s heart,\r\n\r\nand seat it with a staff,\r\n\r\nenthroned in obvious audio triumph\r\n<\/pre>\n

Linda Imbler<\/strong> is an internationally published poet, an avid reader, classical guitar player, and a practitioner of both Yoga and Tai Chi.  In, addition, she helps her husband, a Luthier, build acoustic guitars.  She lives in Wichita, Kansas, U.S.A. where she enjoys her 200-gallon saltwater reef tank wherein resides her 24 year old yellow tang.  Linda\u2019s poetry collections include eight published paperbacks: Big Questions, Little Sleep First Edition, Big Questions, Little Sleep Second Edition; Lost and Found; Red Is The Sunrise; Bus Lights; Travel Sight; Spica\u2019s Frequency; Doubt and Truth; and A Mad Dance.
