\r\nA RETURN TO THE ARMS OF LOVE<\/strong>\r\n\r\nI sit here at last, \r\nAt long fucking last, \r\nFree as a bird just like the Skynyrd used to sing about\r\nAt last free from the distraction of work\r\nOr survival in a town where I very nearly\r\nGave up all hope.\r\n\r\nToday, however, I sit here\r\nIn a place that one day, a very long time\r\nFrom now I hope, will be home\r\nAnd yet it already does as the\r\nStress and horror of my other life\r\nIs finally eviscerated as I return to \r\nThese blessed Arms of Love\r\n\r\n\r\nGLAD TO BE ALIVE!<\/strong>\r\n\r\nWith a few months away,\r\nStuck working on the fiction \r\nAs I got used to my new job,\r\nIt feels good, no, scratch that\r\nThis feels fucking great to\r\nEven just sit here & write this\r\nPoem for no one but me\r\nJust to say 10 new poems\r\nIn the last 8 days shows I\r\nStill got it & man alive I\r\nFeel this could be \r\nThe dawning of a new day\r\nWhen I just got to feel glad\r\nTo be alive!\r\n\r\n\r\nWAIT UNTIL SPRING<\/strong>\r\n\r\nAs the nights come to close later with every passing\r\nSetting of the sun you\u2019ll see the expressions of the down & \r\nOut and those not much removed from the pavement change\r\nAs the realisation that spring is on its way and will\r\nSoon be here to captivate all but provide, for us down\r\nHere at least, a brief respite from another night spent on a\r\nMattress in an ice-box of a room or for those poor souls \r\nWho call the street their home.<\/pre>\n

\nBradford Middleton <\/strong>still lives in Brighton on England\u2019s south-coast where he works part-time in a shop and full-time on his words.  His latest book, The Whiskey Stings Good Tonight, was recently published by the Alien Buddha Press<\/em>.  Recent poems have appeared in Cajun Mutt Press, Cacti Fur, Fixator Press, Horror Sleaze Trash, Rye Whiskey Review<\/em> and the glorious Mad Swirl<\/em>.
