\r\nA Late Night Poem About Morning<\/strong> \r\n\r\nInstead of pasting Goodmorning!\r\non your lips and ripping out mine\r\nat the first urge to breathe we discover\r\nsending pics.\r\n\r\nYou send a photo of a strand of my white \r\non the black pillow case. A white cane\r\nfor a blind lane and for the piers dark with\r\nwetness, water rippling, a few river gulls,\r\nall tide in my mind. Sun walks in my head,\r\nand its sweat beads explode, startle \r\nour alley cat, pregnant and sad \r\nas if it already knows the fate of its kittens. \r\n\r\nIn a Landscape of Red, White and Grey<\/strong>\r\n\r\nThe red balloon moon \r\nkeeps the boat afloat.\r\nSnow steps into the slate.\r\n\r\nDream hands over its \r\nmutinous pamphlets \r\nto the flesh and drags \r\nits cold gnawed feet \r\ntowards the ferry.\r\n\r\nNow a wind will chase the shine. \r\nNow I'll wake up with \r\na mouthful of slogans \r\nand \"Bella Ciao\" stuck in my glottis.\r\n\r\nThirteen Dogs' Piss Mark This Block<\/strong>\r\n\r\nThe dayspring birds surround silence,\r\nnow almost blind, now bewildered\r\nand looking for the home all go in the end\r\nto begin again.\r\n\r\nThe street lights still burn. The early\r\ntramlines connect the horizon\r\nwith the broad mouth of the junction. \r\nOne mad man seeks for the moon beams\r\nlast seen electric on these long metals. \r\nFrom his left hand hangs a brown teddy \r\nwrapped in a thin plastic. The locality \r\nis demarcated by thirteen dogs' piss.\r\nThey ask him who he is, and that he doesn't know.<\/pre>\n
