\r\nAsafetida<\/strong>\r\n\r\nInvesting emotions when other operating levers exist, \r\nloving without the privilege of parenthood is an essay\r\nin emptiness. In some eyes, I can see myself. I\u2019m inured \r\nto their throes. Come, let us camouflage grief in girdles \r\nof guffaw. Let this be our memory.\r\n\r\nYou and I inhaled prescriptions scried by sources beyond \r\nour breath. By then, my sight was misted by the smoke \r\nof your sticky tune. As with passive smokers, we nip and \r\nsometimes nurse. An opisthograph on love is not enough: \r\nlived lives have other needs. \r\n\r\n\r\nAllopatry<\/strong>\r\n\r\nThere was a phase, longish period when I read,\r\nI scrived but didn\u2019t put it in print. Tick-tock of \r\nmy pendulum was on a cerebrational mode. \r\nLike a bodhi of sorts, I built a blindstory, \r\nquieter than all the calm there is. College \r\nfriend, a bureaucrat, called. My apodictic \r\nresponse was to share not show-off. While \r\ncutting off, his har-de-har translated as loser. \r\n\r\nMarionette<\/strong>\r\n\r\nIn the statuary of my branular orb, your figurine shines the sharpest.\r\nWhen fate conspires to have us face to face, you bring to naught \r\nthe herringbone fabric I primp your mannequin with. I like the layers \r\nI pad you with: you\u2019re you, plus my decoupage. This suits our setting.\r\nThe dominion of physical distance invigorates our weal with you \r\nchirking best inside me, heedful of my heart as your homestead. <\/pre>\n

His poems have found a home in more than 400 journals, anthologies, and online literary venues. He edited Dreich Planet #1<\/em>, an anthology for Hybriddreich, Scotland, in December 2022. He is the joint winner of the Full Fat Collection Competition-Deux<\/em>, organized by Hedgehog Poetry Press, UK.
