\r\nEarth Puzzle<\/strong>\r\n\r\n\r\nWe think completing the jigsaw \r\ndepicting Earth will complete us, but \r\n4 AM we float in half-consciousness,\r\nhoping to realign our orbit, still aimed \r\ninto vastness, a jumbled mess on the\r\nfloor. Even the dog snores. Earlier, \r\nDisco ran across our tarot cards, shuffling \r\na wrangled meaning into fate. The Hermit. \r\nThe Star. The Hanged Man. I try to string \r\ntogether half-correlations. I want to drink \r\nmore. I open the window and inhale.\r\nI look into the dark and wonder \r\nhow we can piece it all together.\r\n\r\n\r\nSt. Petersburg in January<\/strong>\r\n\r\n\r\nmaybe it is not seeing-eye dogs training \r\nin the grass I pass or the street vendors\r\nselling sunglasses tamales and watercolors\r\nor the waves that touch a difficult nerve\r\nwhich snap me into a more relaxed reality\r\nor the toaster-oven croissant at the French\r\nbakery on Ocean Avenue but the cranes\r\nthat lift off skyscrapers in the heavy wind\r\nthat make me want to punch real estate\r\ndevelopers in the jaw or somesuch non\r\nsensical violence bear trap tourist trap\r\nsomewhat Floridaesque my happy life\r\non blast it is dynamite at a luxury\r\nconstruction site this weekend\r\n\r\n\r\nYou Celebrate Your Birthday While I Have a Religious Experience<\/strong>\r\n\r\n\r\nLearning how to swim\u2013 \r\ncan\u2019t say I haven\u2019t\r\ncounted hours stars \r\nfloat in the night infinite \r\ndarkness I cannot claim \r\nsanctity within us. You point\r\nto Orion like a familiar\r\nneighbor like I would point \r\nto a passing thought or ripple \r\nbelieving it significant \r\nas the moment passes. <\/pre>\n
