\r\nthe fish<\/strong>\r\n\r\ni\u2019m in horror \r\nwatching him \r\npull up the hooked fish\r\non the end of the jetty \r\nwhere i am taking in the sunset  \r\n\r\nand while i know i can\u2019t do anything \r\nto save the fish \r\nfrom this accepted by most slaughter  \r\n\r\ni look into the fisherman\u2019s eyes \r\nand quietly say\r\n\u2018that poor dying fish\u2019 \r\n\r\nto which he shrugs \r\n\r\nbut i get a sense \r\nby the look he gives the fish \r\nand me\r\n\r\nthat just for moment\r\nhearing my words \r\nhe completely falls into \r\nwhat i said\r\n\r\nand i suppose\r\nthat counts for something\r\n\r\nre: the fish\r\nand the life \r\nit has lived\r\n\r\non planet earth\r\n\r\nour shared home\r\n \r\n\r\nMother Ganga<\/strong>\r\n\r\ni stand \r\n\r\nhold the rusty chain \r\nthat stops bathing people \r\nbeing swept away  \r\n\r\nand lower my body \r\ninto the healing stream\r\nof Mother Ganga \r\n\r\nflowing fast into the plains of India \r\nfrom the Himalayas north \r\n\r\nand unexpectedly \r\n(for i am a sceptic \r\nuntil something\r\nis scientifically proven)\r\n \r\ni instantly feel my inner dirt \r\nbeing washed away\r\n\r\nand a renewal take place\r\n\r\nand i do know \r\nwhat i feel\r\n\r\nwhether i believe it\r\nor not \r\n\r\n\r\nfestering<\/strong>\r\n\r\ni have often wondered \r\nwhy we won\u2019t return to those years\r\nthrough a conversation \r\nand put it to rest for good \r\n\r\nbut we don\u2019t bring it up\r\n\r\nand so \r\nit continues to sit \r\n\r\nfestering \r\n\r\nlike an unopened box of distress \r\nlurking by us \r\n\r\neach time \r\nwe are together\r\n\r\nand it probably always will\r\nunless something changes\r\n\r\nbetween us\r\n\r\nagain <\/pre>\n
