King Kong vs. the Green Witch<\/strong>\r\n\r\nShuttered in that arched ceiling house with oversized window eyes,\r\nfear frozen as ten foot high Green Witch and King Kong square off\r\nneath crabapple tree beside the scotch heavy station wagon.\r\nFlared feminine nostrils bull out white choking smoke\r\nas accented witch hurls broomstick spears at Brooklyn's hairy ape.\r\nUncertain who to root for\r\nI cower neath my cottony get,\r\nand pray for peace.\r\n\r\nEven now\r\nsome nights that five-year-old boy revives\r\never cowering neath warm get\r\nas warbled voices of the long dead king and Green Witch,\r\nthrow rock centered snowballs\r\ndown from sad rooftops of this life.\r\nAmplified through sterile echo chambers,\r\ntheir cold white straitjackets bind me to safer letters,\r\nas pained hourglass grains drift relentlessly south.\r\nSo I wake and puke up vanilla conformity\r\nechoing art house dramas or MGM movie plots,\r\nneutering unknown verses\r\ntill they sound like every mediocre show on thin air.\r\nWhispering,\r\n\"Picture this... it's easier,\"\r\nin hope that peace will come to this mental house divided\r\nif only I write as they want.<\/pre>\n

\nRichard L Weissman<\/strong> has written fiction since 1987.
\nIn 2000, his theatrical play, \u201cThe Healing\u201d was selected by Abdingdon Theatre for a staged reading Off-Broadway.
\nRichard is the author of two Wiley Trading titles. His second book, Trade Like a Casino was selected as a Finalist for the 2012 Technical Analyst Book of the Year Award.

\nIn 2016, Mr. Weissman completed his historical novel in the tradition of magical realism, \u201cGenerations\u201d.
\n 
\nIn 2020 his poem, \u201cMountain Bird and Loquat\u201d was selected as the grand prize winner of the Florida Loquat Literary Festival.
