For Gregory Corso<\/p>\n

Dying in the town whorehouse in the old west would\u2019ve been a dream,
\nNo gunshots
\nNo lawmen
\nJust natural causes.
\nI\u2019d feel for my horse though
\nHoping someone would\u2019ve told her that it was quick,
\nOut of courtesy.<\/p>\n

(ii)<\/p>\n

Spitting into The Wind<\/p>\n

There\u2019s a door I know that remains jammed,
\nIt is a pathway with blood spatters
\nA portal to felonious aggravation
\nTo know this vestibule is to have lived years,
\nWith wounds continually allowed momentary respite
\nJust to be operated on in jest..
\nYou have no recourse but to build a house around the door
\nAdjacent to the house you\u2019ll construct a forest,
\nYou\u2019ve survived all these years and have handpicked the one to see this door rejiggered,
\nBe made into something of value, import, and catharsis
\nAlways getting to the future tense while sitting down and loaded,
\nUnderstanding full well that the door will never be open,<\/p>\n

That there is no mystery
\nYou\u2019ve just run into another one of us.<\/p>\n

I thought on the air I breathed in,
\nMy lungs taking it, and expelling out
\nThe variations of light in my iris, and the feeling of bereavement
\nNot on loss, but on my own vindictiveness
\nMy own ledger full of the profit and leisure
\nHand scribed so there are no tall tales.<\/p>\n

The kitchen is cobalt blue
\nSinking into the ochre chair
\nBelieving in goldenrod traumas,<\/p>\n

I will destroy every town
\nEvery friendship
\nEvery understanding,
\nJust to not let you know my side of the story
\nThat is how you walk out of a place,
\nWith vigor.
