Since your silence scares me, be roadkill,
\nbe oil spill, be the elevator that stalled
\n  
\non its way down. Let me learn to love
\nthe quiet; let\u2019s learn to speak without noise.
\n  
\nAnd since I despise tight spaces, locked
\ndoors, uncertainty: lock us in a room in the dark,
\n  
\nor in a storm shelter\u2014love, take me
\nsubterranean and then take me, let me
\n  
\ntake you. You know odd numbers make me
\nnervous, so how about I ghost the five fingers
\n  
\nof my left hand over all seven bones of your neck?
\nIf I\u2019m bonnet, be breeze and blow me
\n  
\naway. But take me with you. If I\u2019m blind,
\nbe shuddering breath, be the sound you make
\n  
\nwhen I touch your chest. If I\u2019m oak, be Spanish
\nmoss so we can grow together, so I can grow
\n  
\nrings to give you, so you can wrap yourself
\naround me. If I\u2019m weed, be gardener
\n  
\nand uproot me. If I\u2019m week, be -end
\nso we can spend Sunday morning in bed,
\n  
\nso we can bake bread. If I\u2019m night,
\nbe nightlight so I can find you in the dark.
\n  
\nIf I\u2019m crocus, be rainfall, be honeybee
\nand, honey, come be with me.
