\nPrimitive the day when words go miss
\nwithout ideas or a single inexpressible
\nidea to look is to look to settle silhouettes
\ndancing a small vestige of volume
\nperfectly contrasted with the fluorescent
\nrectangular board at the back it \u00b4s the
\nair that sways light bulbs a small help
\nhowever from the black mattress a few
\nminutes ago my blank head a few
\nglances ago and it’s already late if the loud
\nspeakers let me open the door if the
\nspotlights the stones of the fa\u00e7ade permit
\nme a jumble of light and shadow
\na thick blob a little sticky turning
\nwhen the witch’s stick stirs the blob
\nin the cauldron stirring and stirring
\n

\nel d\u00eda que falten las palabras primitivo
\nsin ideas o una sola idea inexpresable
\nmirar es mirar instalarse siluetas que
\ndanzan un peque\u00f1o vestigio de volumen
\nperfectamente contrastadas con el
\npanel fluorescente rectangular del fondo
\nes el aire el que cimbrea las bombillas
\nuna peque\u00f1a ayuda sin embargo del
\ncolch\u00f3n negro desde hace unos minutos
\nmi cabeza en blanco desde hace unas
\nmiradas y ya es tarde si me permiten
\nlos altavoces abrir la puerta si me dejan
\nlos focos las piedras de la fachada amasijo
\nde luz y sombra espeso un tanto pegajoso
\ngiratorio cuando el palo de la bruja
\nda vueltas en el pote
\nal amasijo vueltas y vueltas
\n

\nmy head remains happily empty
\nplacidity of the cavity the wind at
\nease in the interior cavern I cannot
\nperceive traces clues voices getting
\nweaker wasting to rise on the tracks
\nof the torrent train of wheat initiating
\n incursions in the air right after the
\nhorizon sways confusion of the wheat
\nof the air the train that passes incisi-
\nvely through the gust the Boston
\nstrangler sits at my side his cheekbones
\nhis mouth protrude his evil super-
\nciliary bones are curved with the light he
\nplaces his hands on a folder his suit
\nhis black suit buttons up very high
\nthe strangler has two fierce eyes that
\nwander from one side to the other of
\nhis spectacles the train vanishes and
\nthe clarity leaves a volume of moment-
\nary zenithal hope
\nwhether to order a pair of rimmed spectacles!

\nmi cabeza permanece felizmente
\nvac\u00eda la placidez de la oquedad el viento a
\nsus anchas en el interior cavernario no puedo
\npercibir rastros indicios voces que pierden
\nfuerza consunci\u00f3n alzarme sobre las v\u00edas
\ndel tren raudal de trigo iniciando incursiones
\nen el aire justo despu\u00e9s cimbrea el horizonte
\nconfusi\u00f3n del trigo del aire el tren que pasa
\nincisivo por la r\u00e1faga el estrangulador de
\nboston se sienta a mi lado le sobresalen los
\np\u00f3mulos la boca aviesos los superciliares se
\ncurvan con la luz posa las manos sobre una
\ncarpeta muy arriba le cierra el traje negro el
\nestrangulador tiene dos ojos fieros que pasean de
\nun lado a otro de sus gafas desaparece el tren
\ny la claridad deja un volumen cenital esperanza
\nmoment\u00e1nea \u00a1si encargar unas gafas con barrotes!

\nEnrique Darriba (Madrid, 1965) began as a plastic artist, although he soon oriented his artistic work towards literature. He is the author of the poetry book Geometr\u00eda b\u00e1sica (Varasek Ediciones, 2017) and the novel Los buenos tiempos (Legados Ediciones, 2019).

\nEnrique Darriba (Madrid, 1965) empez\u00f3 como artista pl\u00e1stico, aunque pronto deriv\u00f3 su quehacer art\u00edstico hacia la literatura. Es autor del libro de poemas Geometr\u00eda b\u00e1sica (Varasek Ediciones, 2017) y de la novela Los buenos tiempos (Legados Ediciones, 2019).

\nAmparo Arrospide (Argentina) is a Spanish poet and translator. She has published seven poetry collections, Mosaicos bajo la hiedra, Alucinaci\u00f3n en dos actos algunos poemas<\/em>, Pa\u00f1uelos de usar y tirar, Presencia en el Misterio<\/em>, En el Oido del Viento<\/a>, Hormigas en Di\u00e1spora <\/a> and Jaccuzzi<\/a>, as well as poems, short stories and articles on literary and film criticism in anthologies and in both national and foreign magazines.
