\nM Krockmalnik Grabois is a poet extraodinaire, his works lucidly readable are delivered in a paced, snappy even raunchy style ranging from the common place mundane social to the seedy, slapstick macabre. Much of his writing follows the genre of narrator vignettes with the inevitable turn and twist closure punch lines that amorphize a mix of compassion with often hilarious black humor. Indeed, these poems are psychotic taking us to the verge of psychopathy where they compell the reader to a confrontation of her own humanity. A provocative and very recommendable read. \nI kissed the woman who slices lunch meat
\nat King Sooper\u2019s
\nShe shoved smoked turkey at me
\nleaned away
\nand called: Next!<\/em>

\nI kissed my doctor
\nI\u2019d been wanting to do it
\nsince she first told me to stick out my tongue
\nand complemented me on its smoothness
\nand the elegance of my taste buds
\nI kissed her and she asked
\nOn a scale of one to ten, how have you been feeling this week?<\/em>
\nI kissed her again
\nHave you been seeing or hearing things that aren\u2019t really there?
\nHave you been feeling suicidal or homicidal?<\/em>
\nI kissed her more deeply
\nreally sent my tongue to a remote locale
\nDo you have access to weapons?<\/em>
\n 
\nI said:
\nHow can you ask me that
\nafter everything we\u2019ve been through?
\nAnyway, this is America<\/em>

\nShe called Security
\nSecurity knew me
\nfrom the days when I was a high school football star
\nand an amateur boxer and cage fighter
\nwho went by the moniker Destructo
\nThey were afraid of me
\ncalled the cops
\nwarned them: Be sure to bring your stun guns
\nyour billy clubs
\nand chemical weapons<\/em>

\nThe first cop who entered the room\u2014
\nI kissed her
\nShe yelled FREEZE!<\/strong>
\nHands where I can see them!
\nGet down on your knees!<\/em>

\nMitchell Krockmalnik Grabois has had over fourteen-hundred of his poems and fictions appear in literary magazines in the U.S. and abroad, including quite a few in POETRY LIFE AND TIMES<\/em>. He has been nominated for numerous prizes, and was awarded the 2017 Booranga Writers\u2019 Centre <\/em>(Australia) Prize for Fiction.
