\n 
\nI inhabit a desolate, weather-beaten place
\naccessible only to sorrow,
\na necessary dwelling of course
\nbased on current situation and future prospects.
\n 
\nAnd perhaps I will succeed as a place-dweller
\nwhere the place doesn’t promise much,
\nand the horizon is cut off by bramble-cover
\nand I’ve just this small surface to occupy.
\n 
\nAt this stage of life, no possibilities remain
\nand I have stiffened into a man
\nwho is so accustomed to the silence,
\nnow he is its biggest booster.
\n 
\nIn my rooms, my companions are
\na winter sun that shines bleakly,
\na wish to be left alone so powerful
\nthat no other wishes survive.
\n
