hair through the back of his hands.<\/p>\n
He was always a frozen transformation scene<\/p>\n
from “The Wolf-Man.\u201d<\/p>\n
He had so little skin.<\/p>\n
How do you love a man<\/p>\n
who sprouts more than he towers,<\/p>\n
like loving Renoir for the paint<\/p>\n
Bergman for the celluloid.
\n <\/p>\n
My own father<\/p>\n
would shave in the morning<\/p>\n
and be done with it.<\/p>\n
Hair was easily contained.<\/p>\n
I could make connection<\/p>\n
between his cheeks and mouth arid chin..<\/p>\n
His chest was brown and clear<\/p>\n
from working in the sun.<\/p>\n
And I could see the strength in his hands,<\/p>\n
felt what lifted me.
\n <\/p>\n
Ricardo confided in me<\/p>\n
that his father could not find work,<\/p>\n
and I figured it was because<\/p>\n
no one would ever hire such a jungle.<\/p>\n
He added that his parents were separated,<\/p>\n
Once again, how do you love<\/p>\n
the camouflaged man?<\/p>\n
He said he saw him just on weekends,<\/p>\n
looked forward to<\/p>\n
those bright, sunny Saturdays.<\/p>\n
He spoke of razors of warmth and light.<\/strong><\/p>\n
