\n 
\nSo since they kept on and on nagging him, he answered them, and said,
\n\u201cLet the one among you who is sinless be the first to cast a stone at her.\u201d<\/em>
\n 
\nAs stones are cast against the inner walls,
\nthe lessee of the castle wracks his brains,
\nwhile wicked winter rails against its halls
\nand shakes the filings off his dungeon\u2019s chains
\nwhere he\u2019s incarcerated serfs at whim,
\nbecause they\u2019d dared defy his iron will:
\nhis fingers drew the rusty bolt on him
\nas well as them, and held him, freezing, still,
\nuntil he fled that vile, ensanguined room,
\ntheir blasted thane \u2014 unconscious of his sin,
\nthough conscious of what cold impending doom
\nwas bound, as winter is, to do him in.<\/p>\n
