\nwe are seeing? Drops

\nof poison or a sweet
\nconfection from
\nthe spirit world? Pinpricks
\non a lacquered base
\n
\nor the blood
\nfrom an animal so long extinct
\nit has to bleed from
\nan adopted skin?
\n
\nThey shine in a manner
\nalmost sinister, yet
\nthe way they cling
\nto each other
\n
\nsuggests they have arrived
\nas a message conveyed
\nthrough space and time
\nas a warning to act
\n
\nin the common interest
\nbefore it disappears.
\nSoon enough
\nthey leave us wondering
\n
\nwhat was here
\nwith a gloss and such
\ndelicate legs they must
\nhave walked on light
\n
\nto wherever they went.<\/strong>
