\nWhat’s her name again – Deirdre Lyn.
\nShe goes to law school. She plays field hockey
\nSummers spark with
\nthe sheer will of her being.
\nSeptembers are softer now
\nthan a head on a pillow.
\n 
\nBut then I feel your stomach
\nand you shake your head.
\nA tear emerges from your right eye,
\nthe closest your body ever comes
\nto giving birth.
\n 
\nSo I must watch over her
\nwith my eyes shut.
\nNail my lips together
\nto encourage her dreams.
\nSqueeze her to my chest
\nuntil she’s thinner than
\nthe shirt I wear.
\n 
\nDeirdre Lyn – she comes to me in a dream
\nand says she’s met someone.
\nYes, she met me.
\nAnd no one else ever.<\/strong>
