Norway is cold to any sentient tramp
\nor a chorus of hyenas that yawn
\nand sneeze around a chicken house
\nstinking of ghosts and rotten
\npomegranates. Its windmills are beautiful
\nin the pastures, but I need a zippered
\nleather coat to cover the skylark tattooed
\non my chest. I couldn\u2019t invent this:
\nI have poor posture from shaking,
\nmy body needs a sunlamp. No, I retract
\nthe above lies that aren\u2019t worth two euros.
\nI\u2019d fly pennants and banners
\nfor the frigid land. Or release balloons
\ninto the happy sky. I love the fish,
\nblown glass, and police who don\u2019t
\nsurround or harass me. Plenty of shade
\nto sip chardonnay by, and next summer,
\nwhen warmer weather tricks this cancer
\nto die, I\u2019ll toot my own horn again
\nand teach Tolstoy to the children.
