Wash hands of him, rip collar, <\/p>\n

band one arm in black.<\/p>\n

Every year say kaddish, and press <\/p>\n

a stone into the ground.<\/p>\n

You saw his stumble on the down <\/p>\n

step \u2013 a Mobile city bus \u2013 <\/p>\n

two years old, but already wearing his father\u2019s <\/p>\n

sins \u2013 indistinct, sleepy, immobile <\/p>\n

with Norman Rockwell crack,<\/p>\n

his mother\u2019s rage, \u201cGet your black<\/p>\n

ass up,\u201d what the world will say <\/p>\n

if he falls \u2013 dreaming \u2013 of red hair and freckles, <\/p>\n

promises exed. Of course,<\/p>\n

she turns on him, tears that calendar <\/p>\n

from the wall, pops his woolgathering <\/p>\n

head.<\/strong>
