\nGiven all we are born to
\nIn this gorgeous sunlit bower,
\nWhatever bonds we forge,
\nEven as charmed infants,
\nOr the more teasing passions
\nWe might uncover later
\nIn this deliciously viscous,
\nVerdant world,
\nThey all come from this.
\n 
\nOur chance of flesh and blood
\nAnd there\u2019s no coming back
\nFrom that,
\nNor should there be.
\n 
\nFor any alternative
\nWould be impossibly dry,
\nLike dancing endlessly
\nWith tattered ghosts
\nDecomposing
\nBefore your very eyes;
\nThe defeated drunk at the bar,
\nA broken hearted
\nChalice of dreams,
\nAs dry as dust\u2026
\n 
\nGod knows though!
\nTis precisely
\nSuch a luscious procession
\nOf fruitful opportunity
\nThat keeps us aglow.
\n 
\nSo, as one long,
\nLazy summer\u2019s day
\nChases on another,
\nLet us indulge ourselves
\nAs kings and queens of the moment.
\n 
\nQuaff deeply of all that is on offer
\nAnd in loving increments
\nFill our vessel to the brim.
\n 
\nAnd surely,
\nBetter by far to live like this?
\nAs if without a care,
\nIn good faith too,
\nWhilst our spirits are still eager
\nAnd bodies abundantly charged.
\n 
\nKnowing that when these,
\nOur glorious days
\nHave been and gone,
\nThen to sleep contentedly
\nWith angels
\nIs all we could ever wish for.<\/strong>
