changing wind and swirling snow, eidolon
\nrising from the dark

\nin Saint Cloud air still as glass and
\ncold, ten below in useless morning sun, knife
\nblade breaths and bony
\n
\nfingers of oak, we are strung
\nacross trees, hanging in branches, festive
\n
\nand fat as hens in red coats and blue, our fog
\nbreath tinsel thin around faces blurry with tears
\n
\noh mother, where have you left your throat,
\nthat shofar of flesh? Whose name do you sing
\nwhen stars linger, arrowheads of ice in winter sky?<\/strong>
