Is it not Lagos?<\/p>\n
Finely a city baptised in wonders<\/p>\n
But my wife says<\/p>\n
All that glitters can take away your life.
\n <\/p>\n
When I left for the city,<\/p>\n
My wife knew I would not come back<\/p>\n
Home again as her man;
\n <\/p>\n
She knew I would become<\/p>\n
A strange man in her life soon,<\/p>\n
And surely,<\/p>\n
Strange a man I became<\/p>\n
And our lives changed,
\n <\/p>\n
Not for good<\/p>\n
And not for bad either.
\n <\/p>\n
I went to the city<\/p>\n
And my life was taken away:
\n <\/p>\n
In the city,<\/p>\n
I lost my fatherhood, husbandhood and lovehood<\/p>\n
And I became nothinghood<\/p>\n
Because I was busy going after wind.
\n <\/p>\n
Over there on the map,<\/p>\n
Is it not Lagos?<\/p>\n
