Do colours get an elusive soul? They do.
\nBut now please turn the light on:
\nWeekends zeroed in
\nWhen she misspelt his Name,
\nLackadaisical times –
\nIs she ready? Not yet, not for his Name –
\nOh, cut it out with your freaky babbles –
\nWhere are the skinny pale girls
\nWho hung around in seedy cafes,
\nWho dated o so wonderfully poised
\nOlder men –
\nBeware, your soul hasn\u2019t learnt yet
\nTo fend off the sky,
\nAs ever she smiles, says \u2018thanks\u2019,
\nLets in a thrusting dark
\nAlong with harshness from flowers,
\nYes, from meadows, yes,
\nAnd to top it all water\u2019s just her mirror –
\nHad they said no to the slithering wise
\nYou\u2019d be living like a fixed star
\nIn an undeserved sky –
\nSpot on, sweetie, but I only give
\nTo the panhandler who longs
\nFor smiles and nods –
\nI only give to infinite.<\/strong>
