Oh, and what do angels do on such occasions?
\nI\u2019d better not know, thank you very much –
\nA writer told her \u2018trust always pays back\u2019,
\nA doctor told her \u2018better an evil mother
\nthan no mother at all\u2019,
\nA hotshot told her \u2018light always smites eclipses\u2019 –
\nBoy oh boy, don\u2019t they talk
\nA bunch of crap sometimes? –
\nWell, dreams come first and she saw
\nThe prophet being shown
\nAn almond branch –
\nYes, God, yes, nice job,
\nOnly it was doomed to wilt, right?
\nYou ask me why, you ask me when?
\nI dunno, maybe at the midnight hour,
\nAnd no, I won\u2019t be there,
\nShe can make it without me,
\nshe knows her stuff, doesn\u2019t she,
\nThat sower of lost harvests –
\nDo they call lovers \u2018friends\u2019 nowadays?
\nWell, light did –
\nWhenever I lay deep sixed, of course.<\/strong><\/p>\n
