\nI SEEK A FORM . . .
\n

\n 
\nI seek a form my style cannot quite trace,
\nA bud of thought that seeks to be a rose;
\nA kiss upon my lips proclaims the throes
\nOf the Venus de Milo\u2019s impossible embrace.
\n 
\nGreen palms adorn the white peristyle like lace;
\nThe stars have shown me a goddess in repose;
\nAnd in my soul, a sole light lingers\u2014glows
\nLike the bird of the moon on a lake\u2019s calm face.
\n 
\nAnd I find nothing but the word as it goes,
\nThe flute\u2019s initial note as it flows,
\nThe bark of dreams that glides through infinity,
\n 
\nAnd under my Sleeping Beauty\u2019s window sill,
\nThe fountain jet that keeps on sobbing still,
\nThe neck of the great white swan that questions me.
\n 
\nYO PERSIGO UNA FORMA . . .

\nYo persigo una forma que no encuentra mi estilo,
\nbot\u00f3n de pensamiento que busca ser la rosa;
\nse anuncia con un beso que en mis labios se posa
\nel abrazo imposible de la Venus de Milo.
\n 
\nAdornan verdes palmas el blanco peristilo;
\nlos astros me han predicho la visi\u00f3n de la Diosa;
\ny en mi alma reposa la luz como reposa
\nel ave de la luna sobre un lago tranquilo.
\n 
\nY no hallo sino la palabra que huye,
\nla iniciaci\u00f3n mel\u00f3dica que de la flauta fluye
\ny la barca del sue\u00f1o que en el espacio boga;
\n 
\ny bajo la ventana de mi Bella-Durmiente,
\nel sollozo continuo del chorro de la fuente
\ny el cuello del gran cisne blanco que me interroga.<\/strong>
