She comes to him at night
\nin the secret world of dreaming
\nand she comes, also,
\nwhen reverie descends,
\nlike so much summer rain,
\nto occupy the day itself.<\/span><\/strong><\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/strong><\/div>\n
She comes, unfettered,
\nunmasked, a deluge, disarming.
\nIn the earliest of hours,
\nshe is the promise of the sun.
\nAt noon, she describes the night,
\nreplete with wine and roses.<\/span><\/strong><\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/strong><\/div>\n
She cares not a whit
\nfor the whimsies of deniers,
\ndecriers, the deities of decorum.
\nShe comes not to advance,
\nto enhance, to embellish
\nthe shores of sanctimony.<\/span><\/strong><\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/strong><\/div>\n
She comes to uphold
\nthe virtues of love, the verities
\nof which are more than mirrors
\naffixed to their walls,
\nthe same reflecting but the rigid rule
\nof their perfidious page.<\/span><\/strong><\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/strong><\/div>\n
She comes to alert, to assert,
\nto avow. Here to deter the dagger and
\nthe dart, fulfilling the heart, engaging
\nthe soul, she courts her cause,
\non a bed that\u2019s ablaze, burning, a blaze,
\nburning, burning, burning!
\n<\/span><\/strong><\/div>\n
