\nFreedom’s just another word for nothing left to
\nLose<\/em>, in a maze of crazy mirrors, where love
\nHas blown away leaving only pain. I leave
\nYou now \u2013 a stranger to the night<\/em> – to play your part.
\n 
\nThe role that you’re bred for, a fit nice and slick,
\nLike a clean cut brick into the social pyramid.
\nWe’ve left evolution long ago to do its thing,
\nWe’re on a make or break scene, son of man, son
\n 
\nOf a gun and the planet bleeds and the planet
\nBreathes and the planet dies, just like you do.
\nIn the flow, flow of water, flow of time, flow
\nOf your dreams, or so it seems, until you wake
\n 
\nTo find how few the grains of golden sand slip
\nThrough your hand to the deep<\/em>, where there is no flow
\nOf water and time, only money and the clock.
\nThe controlled tick tock in your rat race of time;
\n 
\nAnd your gun crying like a fire in the sun<\/em>,
\nWhere are you going to run to<\/em>, when all is
\nSaid and done, all on that day<\/em>. And you tell me
\nOf your prayer, through your whispering stare.
\n 
\nWe who have been closed to life since we began.
\nOur heritage like a runaway hearse \u2013 O human,
\nYou will rise to touch the skies but you will leave
\nAll other creatures behind. You will become blind
\n 
\nTo your own mind in the infinite setting sun,
\nWhere you were always at war between the thought
\nOf night and day. For you homo homunculus<\/em>
\nAre not an exceptional monster<\/em>, but you do not
\n 
\nLive with your own limitations, because you do not
\nUnderstand them, as what you are are. And so,
\nWe chase our lust amidst the stars, an existence
\nIn an empty mirror and fear in a handful of dust<\/em>.
