Rainbow-Song for the Angel of Tao<\/strong><\/p>\n

1.
\nA rainbow in one sense
\nis woven\u2026
\nfrom a beautiful tear-stained reconciliation<\/p>\n

between light chasing its need\u2026
\nto at all costs avoid\u2026
\ndeath by ignoble stagnation<\/p>\n

and waterdrops\u2019 thirsty desire
\nto discover themselves anew\u2026
\nthrough a passion-driven dream of fire.<\/p>\n

2.
\nThat forest path known as Tzu\u2019s way
\nis not so very different\u2026
\nfirst a butterfly kiss that glows\u2026<\/p>\n

the color of dawn\u2019s golden eyes\u2026
\nthen another, wet and hungry,
\npainted like midnight\u2019s indigo skies.<\/p>\n

The beauty of the one echoes
\nthe secret joy of the other\u2026
\ncradling harmony inside a tattered soul.<\/p>\n

\nForm and substance and mystery\u2026
\nsilence the war-drums of chaos\u2026swirl
\nand give shape to a chromatic revelation\u2026<\/p>\n

Clouds rumble rhythms of peace
\nand hum an ancient oath\u2026
\nswollen with history\u2019s blood-hot creations.<\/p>\n

From opposite ends of time and space
\na dream and a song quietly embrace\u2026like
\nthe sun\u2019s murmuring lips upon the moon\u2019s blue face.<\/p>\n

The American-born author Aberjhani is a widely-published historian, poet, essayist, fiction writer, journalist, and editor. He is a member of PEN International\u2019s PEN American Center and the Academy of American Poets as well as the founder of Creative Thinkers International. He launched the 100th Anniversary of the Harlem Renaissance Initiative in 2011 and during the same period introduced netizens to concept of guerrilla decontextualization via a series of essays and website of the same name.<\/p>\n

He has authored a dozen books in diverse genres and edited (or sometimes co-edited) the same number. His published works include the Choice Academic Title Award-winning Encyclopedia of the Harlem Renaissance<\/em>, the social media-inspired Journey through the Power of the Rainbow<\/em>: Quotations from a Life Made Out of Poetry, the modern classic ELEMENTAL The Power of Illuminated Love <\/em>(a collection of ekphrastic verse featuring art by Luther E. Vann), and the frequently-quoted poetry collection, The River of Winged Dreams.<\/p>\n

Among his works as an editor are the Savannah Literary Journal <\/em>(1994-2001), plus the Civil War Savannah Book Series <\/em>titles: \u201cSavannah: Immortal City\u201d (2011), and \u201cSavannah: Brokers, Bankers, and Bay Lane-Inside the Slave Trade\u201d (2012). In 2014, Aberjhani was among a limited number of authors invited to publish blogs on LinkedIn.
