I am lying to you.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nI am naked before you, an untouched white blossoming virgin.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nA shaded grove and snowy whiteness envelope us.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nA hollow gorge is piled with pearls and medusas and cast out eyes of fish.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nThere are mutilated children afloat in the bathing pools of Ariadne\u2019s<br \/>\nestate, yellow sandals and birch branches.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nSanskrit scrolls are floating across the Ross Sea<br \/>\ntogether with the remains of cetaceans and sea elephants.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nThose goats that penetrated the galleon\u2019s cabin<br \/>\nI know will die.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nFive pirates wearing brass studs in their cheekbones, ready-made<br \/>\namulets, dried blood of dogs and bison.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nI thirst. It seems as though I am dead.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nFrom the mortuary emerges a giant flask of whisky laden in grapefruit. A<br \/>\nsmall girl walks behind the catafalque, naked and<br \/>\nshe lies. Into an urn her hands contain falls a drop of amber.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nPages of paper ferment in rainfalls. There are scars of ice<br \/>\nover each word.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nAsleep in my eyes are two small proud birds.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nWaters flow from my hands to make streaks in the dust; loaves<br \/>\nof mica lay a vault to my solitary ancientness.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nSunlight bursts a bubble and gathers herbs from the landscape.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nOut of the desert came a caravan of the demented who handed<br \/>\nover its prisoners to the vultures, left now to grow<br \/>\nbeards and at dawn depart for the Pole.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nOutside my door are the goats they left behind. They lie on<br \/>\nthe floor quartered and covered in honey.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nClose to the beach a fisherman has furtively caught a bear cub,<br \/>\nand whilst it yet lives, devours its flesh, raw.<br \/>\nOther birds have come to my eyes.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nOn lavatory walls are seen images of the passion according to Mathew.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nIn chestnut boughs, at peace now, the spirit of the Melchite<br \/>\nroams, a gypsy without teeth.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nIn a silver milk jug the right hand of the Margot<br \/>\nis submerged in milk.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nThe oldest house in the village has burnt down. Fire is<br \/>\narrogant and consoling.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nThe following day ashes were mixed with geraniums and hairs<br \/>\nof the ancient crone.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nYou are still naked before me. She has given recitals and taught poetry workshops in Spain, Venezuela, Ecuador, Argentina, Canada and the Netherlands. She has 4 unpublished books. One is an opera, <em>Divorcio<\/em>, which was performed at the University of Salamanca in 2013.
