\nTo paraphrase the greats,
\nnever has a company been hated so much
\nby so many;
\nthey are the scum
\nthat floats on the water
\nthat stagnates in the bucket
\nthat brewed our primordial stew.
\n 
\nThey are the reason why
\nI write while I\u2019m walking
\nin great cursive lines
\nstumbling into signs and foliage
\nmuch to the amusement
\nof the shopkeepers who won\u2019t sell me cigarettes,
\nthe pedestrians who won\u2019t lend me a mobile phone,
\nthe drivers who ignore my proffered thumb.
\n 
\nHell,
\neven prisoners get to make a call,
\nor do cardiac arrests not count?
\n 
\nThey are the reason
\nfor countless \u00a32.60 Carousels,
\n\u00a34 Wycombe Day passes and
\n\u00a34.50 Day plus passes
\nnow the price has gone up,
\n\u00a312 taxis
\nover and over
\n\u00a312 taxis
\nwhen I\u2019ve already got a fucking ticket
\nand now I\u2019m walking eight miles home
\nbecause the five mile route cuts across a motorway
\nand because my ticket ain\u2019t worth shit
\nand I weep for the tree that it\u2019s printed on
\nbecause the bus didn\u2019t show up after 90 minutes
\nand I thought, \u2018Hey,
\nI could fucking walk it in this time,\u2019
\nso I did.
\n 
\nIronically,
\nthe only bus I\u2019ve seen so far was out of service,
\nbut I\u2019ve seen sewage plants and cemeteries,
\nstinging nettles, farm shops,
\ndiscarded gloves and a hoodie,
\nand this is real countryside
\nif you ignore the road I\u2019m walking on,
\nI last passed a sign 20 minutes ago
\nsaying two miles to Bourne End
\nanother two miles to Wycombe
\nand another two miles to my flat.
\n 
\nMy feet will hate me in the morning,
\nbut not as much as I\u2019ll hate them \u2013
\nsitting down would be the worst thing I could do
\nso I\u2019ll keep on walking and writing
\nand venting my spleen because
\n(oh look, Bourne End)
\nArriva is truly, outrageously shit,
\ncan I get a hallelujah?
\nThey take our money
\nand they crush our spirits
\nand we have to keep on going back
\nor walk three marathons each week
\njust to get to work and back.
\n 
\nDastardly schweinhunds,
\nbell-ends of the highest order,
\nshit-stains on the anus of society,
\nunholy douchewater in life\u2019s lemonade,
\ndogs\u2019 ejaculate mixed with gone-off milk;
\nthe pus,
\nseeping from the blisters
\nbeneath my feet.
\n 
\nI tell you, man,
\nI need to learn to drive a car.
\n<\/strong>
