\nReflecting on Chapter 43 of
\nParamanhanza Yogananda\u2019s
\nAutobiography of a Yogi.
\n 
\n 
\nWhen these old lungs have finally heaved their last,
\nwhat happens to their animating soul?
\nThe body\u2019s struggles \u2014 character \u2014 have passed
\nand all that\u2019s left is bone grit in a bowl.
\nWhat then? Do Hindi yogi sages troll,
\nby way of meditation, cosmic truth?
\nIs Yogananda\u2019s Yukteswar our sleuth?
\n 
\nSri Yukteswar said every soul is dressed
\nin three bodies \u2014 a nesting Russian Doll!
\nOnce soul\u2019s released from Flesh & Bone, it\u2019s pressed
\nto fill an Astral body. (They\u2019ll enthrall
\nus \u2014 mental telepathy\u2019s shared with all!)
\nInside the Astral lies the Casual body.
\nIt\u2019s realm? Ideas! Souls \u2014 Illuminati . . . ?
\n 
\nGiven: My salty blood\u2019s the salt of seas.
\nMy six bucks worth of minerals are theirs too.
\nWhen tide\u2019s outbound and there\u2019s an off-shore breeze
\nI\u2019ll trust my children, with little to-do,
\nto pour my ashes and my point of view
\ninto retreating surf \u2014 returning earth
\nto Earth \u2014 and me, at last, to Astral Mirth?
