My heart<\/strong>
\n Is as<\/strong>
\n The old<\/strong>
\n West pier<\/strong>
\n In Brighton.<\/strong>
\n It has been stripped down,<\/strong>
\n To bear minimum,<\/strong>
\n The structure crumbles,
\nWinds, Rains and Tides,
\nHave wrecked
\nOnce noble
\nSteel girders.
\nThe Penny arcades,
\nLittle lights and joy rides,
\nHave passed into history.
\nOnly the starlings, black clouds,
\nAt sunset,
\nVisit.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

My heart<\/strong>
\n Is as<\/strong>
\n The old<\/strong>
\n West Pier<\/strong>
\n In Brighton.<\/strong>
\n Shrouded in darkness,<\/strong>
\n Awaiting collapse,<\/strong>
\n It is old enough,<\/strong>
\n To remember<\/strong>
\n The little boy,<\/strong>
\n Who once played,<\/strong>
\n When the Pier<\/strong>
\n Lived,<\/strong>
\n And both made dreams,<\/strong>
\n That are now,<\/strong>
\n The Property<\/strong>
\n Of Ghosts\u2026<\/strong>

\nRobin Marchesi, born in 1951, began writing in his teens, much to the consternation of his mother, <\/span>the sister of Eric Hobsbawm, the historian.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

In 1992 Cosmic Books published his first book entitled\u00a0 \u201cA B C Quest\u201d. <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

In 1996 March Hare Press published \u201cKyoto Garden\u201d and in 1999 \u201cMy Heart is As\u2026\u201d<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

ClockTowerBooks published his Poetic Novella, \u201cA Small Journal of Heroin Addiction\u201d, digitally, in 2000. <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Charta Books published his latest work entitled \u201cPoet of the Building Site\u201d, about his time working with Barry Flanagan the Sculptor of Hares, in association with the Irish Museum of Modern Art. <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

He is presently working on an upcoming novel entitled \u201cA Story Made of Stone.\u201d<\/span><\/strong>
