Old Oxford town<\/strong><\/div>\n
rolling into view.<\/strong><\/div>\n
*<\/strong><\/div>\n
From the tour bus window<\/strong><\/div>\n
I vaguely remember the distant past;<\/strong><\/div>\n
I remember the neighborhood,<\/strong><\/div>\n
the houses,<\/strong><\/div>\n
the stores.<\/strong><\/div>\n
*<\/strong><\/div>\n
Could it be<\/strong><\/div>\n
you were my home in the past,<\/strong><\/div>\n
quaint old Oxford?<\/strong><\/div>\n
*<\/strong><\/div>\n
The place I\u00a0 remember,<\/strong><\/div>\n
the monastery,<\/strong><\/div>\n
quill in hand,<\/strong><\/div>\n
scribing for a living,<\/strong><\/div>\n
*<\/strong><\/div>\n
the scent of lavender<\/strong><\/div>\n
wafting in the breeze<\/strong><\/div>\n
across the open court yard<\/strong><\/div>\n
to my open window<\/strong><\/div>\n
as I gaze out at the Jabberwocky Tree.<\/strong><\/div>\n
*<\/strong><\/div>\n
Did I walk these grounds before,<\/strong><\/div>\n
stroll lazily through the forbidden garden,<\/strong><\/div>\n
worship in the cathedral–<\/strong><\/div>\n
*<\/strong><\/div>\n
the cathedral whose stones<\/strong><\/div>\n
speak of an ancient past,<\/strong><\/div>\n
whispering secrets<\/strong><\/div>\n
while sunlight illuminates<\/strong><\/div>\n
the Rosetta window,<\/strong><\/div>\n
beckoning me remember this shrouded place,<\/strong><\/div>\n
a place hidden in the optical illusions<\/strong><\/div>\n
of my imagination?<\/strong><\/div>\n
*<\/strong><\/div>\n
Oh, Oxford!<\/strong><\/div>\n
If I had my way,<\/strong><\/div>\n
I’d come home again;<\/strong><\/div>\n
home to you and the wonderland<\/strong><\/div>\n
buried deep<\/strong><\/div>\n
*<\/strong><\/div>\n
in the recesses<\/strong><\/div>\n
*<\/strong><\/div>\n
of my mind.<\/strong><\/div>\n
