Merry Go Round
by Jim Schultz

Merry go round of history.
Return us to places we've been.
Teach us historical symmetry.
Spin us around again.
Faster and faster.
Out of control.
Dizzy but begging for more.
Spin us through cycles,
circles of time,
repetitive acts of war.

Show us our children one more time
on playgrounds of the world.
Choke us with blood and teach us the crime
of battle flags unfurled.
Gag us on carnage.
Sicken our minds
with lessons we thought we learned.
Return us to madness.
Give us your wrath.
Send us to destinies earned
