CHIMES (Poem by Charlotte Mair)

Dedicated to 'T', with all my heart ...

In Memories Wait
Here you are †” tinkling away
a reminder
in the wind-chimes and over water my Love

Breathing deeply, meditatively †” then in mind's eye†”
there you stand
Perched on nearby rocks,
book affixed in hand,
loving smile, impish brown eyes
reading treasures of bygone poets

Oh †” and yes, this imagination runs rampant
at times and
in sweet dreams runs spring through summer
presenting fantasies
for aloof and dreamy ladies to fly

Sea-wall walks at Stanley Park
smiles given you †” by the wind,
cool calm of ocean breeze and crashing surf

Sunset laden strolls, accompany two
hand in hand
along shores of Spanish Banks

Back road hikes up Grouse Mountain
hide and seek in nature's old growth
lovers steal the kiss
the magic

Adoring, studying moons and stars
the wonders of a night as this†”
all this

in
memories wait
