A Medley by Linda Straub

Soft Shoe

Dancing
on the seam of evening
and an unveiling morn,
gliding
under the bent light
of a candled chandelier,
giving in
to a greater passion

Departing

I searched for you
in the blind fog
of increasing distance,
in the solitude of shadows.

At home, a dark room,
your photograph developing.

Grandchild

Dawn at twilight,
sunshine in rain,
gentle breeze
brushing
a furrowed brow;
touch of warmth
leading me out of the cold.
