fluffy dogs poem by Michael Estabrook

one of those fluffy dogs with the thick curly tail

Fall is almost here

and as I drive over the overpass

before the big bend in the road I notice

the train is pulling out of the station,

it’s big white light so bright lighting

up the tracks clearly for them to see.

At the bend in the road,

one of those fluffy dogs

with the thick curly tail is standing there,

simply standing in the road,

not looking at me or thinking

about me, not caring, so

I drive by on my way to work deciding

not to think much about him either.
