WAKE FROM YOUR SLUMBER
Would it be, if life was of change; I would find the warmth of your arms?
A soldier you would be, so bright - shiny; full of ember
If still the spark of want for one heart lay within you,
And your grand pianos played 'neath your fingers so gentle;
Would the moon still light your melodies?
Would you wear the kindness of smile?
And not be harsh, as others on this earth?
To notice nature in all its beauty;
a nurturing, loving man of his word?
By your side, a ghostly apparition stands
A child, weary from the wait; arms extended
One that lies within your heart of hearts,
Eternal to haunt
Unforgiving lost marriages, paint memories in sorrow
Leave you standing on a desert mountain top, in bitter dry
Many a year of loss has taken its' toll
Smiles now lay buried in hopeless yearnings
Carrying lost ones on rusting chains, up eternity's road
On some futile walk of faith, some quest unknown
Burdening yourself with "what ifs", and "if nots"
Failing to see what stands, open eyed in front of you,
Denying any hope that love exists
Wake up from your dreams of yesteryear
Partake of life's fine events;
Love, laugh, trust, appreciate, journey into the unknown
Don't let your burdens win
Send them on their voyage of origin
So you may live your life in full
Knowing that I bid you well, in your desires of the heart.
