NOWHERE TO HIDE

Sometimes
when I look in the mirror...

I see a stranger
looking back at me.

I stare intently
trying hard to see
the person
that I used to be.

Sometimes
I see her
by my side.

And sometimes
I see
that she's trying to hide.

Sometimes I try to hide
even from myself.

But when she's standing
there

there's no place left.

LIKE IT WAS YESTERDAY

It doesn't matter
what she looks like today.

I remember her beauty

like it was yesterday.

I have never seen such beauty
all in one place.

And I remember it

like it was yesterday.

I HOPE TO LIVE 'TIL TOMORROW

The longer I live
the older I get.

And the more
that seems to go wrong
with my body.

Once upon a time
it was invincible.

Used to be that it would
live forever.

Now

every night I go to sleep
just praying

to live 'til tomorrow.
