CHIMES

What brings me to this place in mind?
The soft wind blowing __ lighthouse chimes,
that sway outside my portal?

No, the silvery mist of which my heart is set
A day dream for love __ a thread to cling to
   __ a mariner's wife in wait

For every piece of laughter
I pay dearly in my tears

Seems such a long, long road I travel
and I am utterly exhausted

When __ oh tell me when?

Chimes they tinkle idle chatter
Singing angelic tunes of hope
Hope that I may gaze those eyes

Still -- three thousand miles gnaw and feel a universe away
Repeating every waking breath __resounding of my vacant yen
This pen__ oh never tiring __ runs a wealth of paper every lonely night
While this mind runs stallions bolting wild in dream-filled taunting

Rest your sound __ lead me to the morrow softly
Drift me to the shores of peace

Kisses of spring make hopeful bedfellows
As the chimes grieve promise all my days
