Pinky's Little Book of Shadows

Off the top, I need make mention of Sara Russell’s "Pinky’s Little Book of Shadows", and the immaculate perception with which the layout and design were achieved. Being a real stickler for perfection and tidiness, I have found Ms. Russell’s work to be extraordinarily tasteful.

This CDROM was obviously conceived with much love and planning, for not only can one sight lovely backgrounds, original art and pieces of Sara Russell’s AKA "Pinky Andrexa’s" original sound tracks, but within the poetry, Sara’s offers, in "Pinky’s Little Book of Shadows" … exquisite writing, to say the least.

A solid read of her poetry is both captivating and poignant, with much educational flare.

Whether reading from the darker side, as in:

Terra Asta:

A new dimension beckons
wraps its fingers round your heart
in the dappled shadows
the bushes move apart
feel their eyes upon you as you
enter their domain
they're reaching out with arms and paws
to greet you home again.

One can almost feel the temptation, as Terra Asta bids us welcome to touch its foreboding ground.

Then we frolic to the other side of "Pinky Andrexa’s Little Book of Shadows" into a more comedic, lighter approach … on love:

You: A Tender Hate Poem

You are the boil that won't subside,
the phone box with a sales rep inside,
you are a cloud that follows me,
a small strange floater in my tea.

Then it’s off to the cute and cuddly style of writing, as Sara says it all in:

The Renegade Hamsters

The night was cool
the night air sweet;
the Renegade Hamsters were out on the street,
twitching their noses, gnashing their teeth,
they were fluff on the surface
and rough underneath.

Enough cannot be said ... a highly recommendable read.
