FLIGHT

How do I contain myself
In this red tunnel
In the cosmos?
What is it, that,
Like a panicked rat
Runs this short gauntlet?
Radiations pound
The outside walls.
Both ends threaten
With the horror
Of unknowingness.
Yet, I have no power
But to run.
Around which corner
Waits my target?
I would rather
Never know.
