II
I sail afflicted into this turbulent realm
a ship without captain or pilot at the helm.
I struggle against the raging tempest,
tossed violently upon waves that surge
mountainous above the dancing mast,
awaiting Poseidon's hand to emerge.
Bury me not within this abyss of uncertainty.
Adrift and alone I surveyed the writhing expanse
marooned to fate and its approaching circumstance.
Adrift and alone I am soaked in delirious despair.
stammering the verses of a mariner's song
Scavengers circle in the open air,
amazed I could ever last this long.
But I must not drink from this insanity.
