Taking Ownership

Look deeply
to the heart born of loss
Seek truthfully
to find the source
of all grief betrothed upon a burdensome life

Stop, look in the mirror
Could it be, you were the keeper of its destiny __ all along?
Take one moment, for fear of flying alone
Breathe new found freedom __ knowing who wears the red shoes
Why, it was me, there was no wizard __ it was me!

Seek azure skies __ at twilight or grey skies of dawn
Leave what’s left behind to its own path
You cannot free the world, nor heal the world, nor bring peace
Nor can you change the mind of one, never mind many
Do your best __ and leave what you cannot emend to God

If love does find your door and welcome the heart
Let it in __ but do not grieve its loss __ if it should part
For whether it was momentarily or a life time, it was love nonetheless
And it takes courage __ to let love enter
It is not for the weak

Too many go through life, blaming love for their losses
When, it is pride and self pity that truly haunts and taunts
"No regrets", "Can’t forget, what I did for love" said Piaf

I will walk on and I will love again __ for it is in me to do so
For when if comes to love __ I am a true brave heart
